Happy Monday all! I was tagged by the awesome James at This Is My Truth Now to do The Listicle Tag. Go check out and follow his blog! He writes amazing, positive, creative blog posts!
So why am I doing The Listicle Tag again? Because this tag gives you the ability to create your own, unique listicle tag so that each time it is shared, it is different!
What is the Listicle Tag?
The listicle tag is a post that contains a list format for a topic or set of questions.
Rules
- Create your own listicle tag, using the prompt from the person who tagged you.
- Tag the creator of the post (not-so-modern-girl!) so that she can read all your brilliant posts and see how the joy of listicles is being spread.
- Nominate as many people as you want!
- Set those people the subject/prompt of their listicle post!
James’ Prompt:
Choose 5 favorite characters who died in some of your most beloved books or movies. Name the author/director, book/movie, character and way in which (s)he died. Then replace that character with another one from the same book/movie who you would have preferred died in your favoriteโs place.
*Warning: My choices may contain spoilers for those who have not seen the movies or read the books below!
- Heartless by Marissa Meyer – I would replace Jest dying with either the king or one of the tea party attendees.
- Everland by Wendy Spinale – I would replace Mole dying with Captain Hook.
- Thunderlight by Adrienne Woods – I would replace Lucian dying with Blake.
- Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwight (book and movie) – I would replace Claude dying with his sister Roxanne.
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (book and movie) – I would replace Viviane dying with Gwenhwyfar.
That was a tough one! I actually have not read too many books with unwanted deaths in them!
Prompt for those tagged:
Choose 5 books, television shows, or movies that your opinion of is different from the popular opinion.
Tagged:
Naty’s Bookshelf / Novel Thief / Inspiration Pie / YA and Wine / Egg Reader / Bookish Freaks / The Sassy Geek / Book Bastion
Thank you so much for the tag! This is definitely a creative one. I kind of spoiled myself for Heartless but I knew that tidbit thanks to a friend who enjoys spoiling books for me.

The Mists of Avalon broke my heart, specially the ending. Your prompt idea sounds super cool and I can’t wait to answer it – thank you so much for the tag!! I might take an embarrassingly long time though, because I’ve left the next few weeks’ worth of posts already done & scheduled due to overload at work… But I will do it eventually!

Me too!
And no worries. Take your time. These are supposed to be fun, not pressure ๐

Good job! I know it was hard, sorry! I wanted it to be, but I also wanted it to be thought-provoking. You did awesome!

Thanks so much for the tag! This is a fun one! I’ve actually never read any of the books from your unfortunately, so I can’t weigh in on those, but I still enjoyed reading them. ๐

You are welcome. And I hope I did not spoil anything if you do decide to read any of those. ๐

Oh, no worries. I have a ten second memory to be entirely honest, so by the time I read them I won’t even remember. ๐

I very much agree with the Mists! God, talk about screaming and throwing a book against a wall.

I know right!! Did you ever see the movie?

Absolutely! Anjelica was a great Vivianne. The birch.

She really was! I loved Julianna Margulies as Moragine as well!

That was my favorite movie she did. They both deserved Oscars.

I definitely don’t think the movie and the actors got the recognition they deserved for it!

And why Not? That’s what I don’t get.

I don’t know. I wonder if it was because it was a TV movie. Or possibly a lot of people didn’t like the paganism in it.

Huh. I didn’t consider the paganism. I don’t get it. It’s just another religion.

I feel the same way, but after having lived in the bible belt, I know a lot of people turn away from anything non-christian.

Not to get offensive, but the election has brought out even more of the close minded IMO.

Unfortunately I agree. I think that is why I have gravitated toward the book world so much more. Readers tend to be more open minded and tolerant of differences!
