25Please let us know if for some reason we missed your post from this month!

The votes came in, and the Popular Choice for Best Book Set in Winter:

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
December Pick

What a wintery choice indeed! The story was creepy and full of magic, and the setting was quite chilly and full of snow!

Twitter Chat:

We changed things up this month with the chat! We started on Monday, December 17th, and asked one question a day for 5 days. You can still head back through and join in if you missed the fun the first time around!

January Theme:

The New Year is fast approaching, so we are excited to announce January’s theme:

Happy New Year: 2019 Release You’re Most Looking Forward To

January 7th will be post date for this magical theme. Make sure to find mine and Katie’s posts to link back to that day so we can add you all to the participant list for everybody to blog hop and discuss!

Katie and I have come to a decision about the Twitter Chat. Normally having been held at 8 p.m. EST on the 3rd Sunday of the month, we’ve had many people unable to attend due to time zone differences,, thus, prompting us to make a new Chat schedule.

In January, the first question of the Twitter Chat (under hashtag #CGBChat) will be posted on the morning of the 21st and you all will have the entire day to respond. The next day will have a new question posted, and so on until Friday, January, 25 with the last question of the chat.

We hope this helps with those who have never been able to attend the chats before. ❤

And, don’t forget to vote for February’s theme! Voting  will close Sunday, January 13th at midnight EST.

25If you love getting monthly newsletters with updates, make sure you sign up for the Calendar Girls newsletter!

For those who are new to Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blog event that was inspired by the Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a specific theme, voted on by the participants, where we get to talk about a particular book we love or think fits the theme the best. The blog event was created to incite fun bookish discussions and to spread the blogger love by introducing us to new bloggers and/or books that we have not come across before.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, make sure to head to my Calendar Girls info page! Drop a comment and let me know if you are interested in joining us.
