Slayer by Kiersten White
I am so excited that this one won! If I hadn’t gotten lucky enough to receive and read this ARC before January, Slayer would have been my top choice! It was so good and I hope many of you are excited to read it, and love it!
Twitter Chat:
This month’s chat was so fun! We learned a lot about how you all keep up with new books and how soon you enjoy reading them after release date! With email and social media, it’s a great time to be a bookworm!
February Theme:
February is almost upon us and it is a very important month to celebrate:
Black History Month: Favorite Book by a Black Author
We are so excited to celebrate strength and diversity and are looking forward to seeing all the amazing authors you all post about! February 4th will be post date for this awesome theme. Make sure to find mine and Katie’s posts to link back to that day so we can add you all to the participant list for everybody to blog hop and discuss!
Reminders:
Don’t forget to join us for our new Twitter chat schedule. Instead of chatting for an hour one day of the month, we decided to spread it out over 5 days to allow more of you to be able to participate! Starting the 3rd Monday of the month (February 18th), each week day will have a new question under the hashtag #CGBChat, and you will have the whole week to join in on the fun!
Adrienne Katie
We hope this helps with those who have never been able to attend the chats before. ❤
And, don’t forget to vote for March’s theme! Voting will close Sunday, February 10th at midnight EST.
If you love getting monthly newsletters with updates, make sure you sign up for the Calendar Girls newsletter!
For those who are new to Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blog event that was inspired by the Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a specific theme, voted on by the participants, where we get to talk about a particular book we love or think fits the theme the best. The blog event was created to incite fun bookish discussions and to spread the blogger love by introducing us to new bloggers and/or books that we have not come across before.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, make sure to head to my Calendar Girls info page! Drop a comment and let me know if you are interested in joining us.

I’m gonna have to set up my post the same way I set it up for January because of all the great books written by Black authors that I’ve read.
