We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This is supposed to be a book that comes off as predictable but completely knocks your socks off, so it’s no surprise that it won this month! I am looking forward to reading it!
Twitter Chat:
This month’s chat was fun as always! We hope you enjoyed discussing why you like or don’t like books with twists and surprise endings.Β
May Theme:
May is coming quickly, and with it a very special day:
Mother’s Day: Best Book with a Mother/Daughter Relationship
We are really looking forward to seeing the choices for this theme! Katie is an amazing mother, and my mother is my best friend, so this theme really won us over!
Reminders:
Donβt forget to join us for our new Twitter chat schedule. Instead of chatting for an hour one day of the month, we decided to spread it out over 5 days to allow more of you to be able to participate! Starting the 3rd Monday of the month (May 20th), each week day will have a new question under the hashtag #CGBChat, and you will have the whole week to join in on the fun!

If you love getting monthly newsletters with updates, make sure you sign up for the Calendar Girls newsletter!
For those who are new to Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blog event that was inspired by the Neil Sedaka song,Β Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a specific theme, voted on by the participants, where we get to talk about a particular book we love or think fits the theme the best. The blog event was created to incite fun bookish discussions and to spread the blogger love by introducing us to new bloggers and/or books that we have not come across before.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, make sure to head to myΒ Calendar Girls info page! Drop a comment and let me know if you are interested in joining us.

I’m not sure about May’s theme – from the time it was announced, nothing has come to mind. I’ll take another look and see if I can come up with something.

I hope you find something! If not, you could always choose something from your tbr that others have said has a good mother/daughter relationship.
