This month has flown by! I hope you all had a lovely Mother’s Day if you celebrated! We sure did! We grilled out at mom’s the day before, and then spent the whole day with her that Sunday. 🙂
So, it’s been about 3 months since my last update, and I’m excited to say that I am down another 20 pounds! I am only 2 pounds away from my initial goal of 200. My new goal is now 180, and I am looking forward to the challenge to get there!
The last time I was at this weight was May of 2007. My blood sugars have also been so much better! My a1c (average 2-3 months of blood sugars) was 6.6, and it hasn’t been that low since high school! I had an amazing checkup with my endocrinologist (diabetic doctor) yesterday and as she walked in the room she said, “there’s my success story!” Felt pretty damn great!
I’ve got about 2 weeks left in a 60 day program that I have been loving. It’s called Piloxing. It combines Pilates and boxing with a little bit of dance, and it has been a blast! I feel strong and I feel like my balance has improved so much! I had moved on to T25 when I finished the Walk Strong program, and I just wasn’t enjoying it that much, so instead of going in to the Beta round, I bought this program and I don’t regret it!
Once I finish Piloxing, I am thinking about moving on to Turbo Fire by Chalene Johnson (I already own this, it was just too intense when I was 50 pounds heavier), or a Zumba program. I am still eating healthy. I have occasional cheat days, but I’ve been sticking to whole wheat, whole grain, low carb options and trying to pack in the veggies when I can. This is definitely something that I will be sticking to. I plan to get to my new goal of 180 and keep off the weight by staying healthy. I feel great, and I’m loving it!
Things I’ve Learned:
*Attitude is everything. I spent way too long thinking, “why me?” as far as my Type 1 diabetes is concerned. Positive attitude makes all the difference.
*It’s okay to skip a day of workout or have a cheat day in calories. As long as you get back at it and you don’t over-indulge too much, you don’t have to restrict yourself 100%.
*Enjoy it! Working out should be hard, but it shouldn’t be so un-enjoyable that you dread it or feel worse afterward.
My next update is something else I am quite proud of. With all the weight I’ve lost, and the confidence I’ve built, I’ve been trying to find more clothes that fit me, and my new attitude. I’m still considered plus size, and I know people still look at me and think, “oh she must sit on her ass all day.” Finding plus sized clothes that fit AND make me feel great has always been hard outside of Torrid, but I am so happy that I found a company that I love and can support.
Beautiful Disaster is a southern California company initially started by two strong, amazing women. They have both been through so much in their lives, and they decided to take their experiences and make a clothing line that makes others feel empowered, no matter their stories (there is even a men’s line that is now getting it’s own website). Their clothing, and accessories, are high quality and all carry positive messages.
I have been living in their glorious tank tops lately, and I’m totally in love with the bag I purchased from them initially. When I put on those tanks, I feel bad-ass! I feel like I can kick my workout’s butt and take on the world. This feeling is so hard to find when so many companies don’t seem to care about how their plus sized customers feel in their clothes.
Because of this amazing feeling this company gives me, I decided to become an affiliate to help spread the word about the positivity this company brings, and about the love I feel for them! Yes, that means I get a small portion from your purchase if you click through my link, but you also get 15% off if you use my discount code, AdriRocks. I didn’t make the decision based off making something off your purchases, I made it so I could help promote something I am proud to wear and buy myself, and to give you the discount to spread the love!
If you decide you would like to try their clothes, or accessories, you can click through my affiliate link here. And use discount code: AdriRocks for 15% off!
You won’t regret buying from this company. There are always new and exciting releases, and every piece has a story and an empowering message to go with it! I can’t wait to show you more of their clothes!
I decided to take part in the Sailormoonathon happening on Twitter right now. It was initially supposed to be from May 1 to the 20th, but it got extended to the end of the month. Since I had done so well with the Booktube games, I thought participating in this readathon would help kick up my reading game since I had fallen back in my workout reading slump. I had set a tbr of 13 books, and have read 4 of them so far. I have been working on number 5, Crazy Rich Asians, but have found myself burnt out again. Mainly because I am just not enjoying this damn book. The movie was great, but the book is SOOOOO BORING! Lol. And so over the top and shallow.
But, anyway. I may try to finish it this weekend and pick up another book to finish out the readathon before the Biblio Games (formerly Booktube Games) starts up. We’ll see what happens. I want to keep reading and try to enjoy it again, but I am living my healthiest lifestyle and I don’t regret it.
With not really feeling like reading, I’ve gotten back in to gaming. I’ve been playing State of Decay 2 and Dark Souls 3 with my brother. It’s our thing to game together. And I’ve been working through the Resident Evil 2 remake.
I guess that’s it for now! I’m healthy. I’m happy. I’m not reading much, but that’s okay. We’ve been watching all the old seasons of The Great British Baking Show, and I’m living for it! I’m considering becoming a Scentsy consultant, so if you think you would like to purchase smelly good wax and warmers from me, let me know! Looking forward to visiting family in Cali very soon!
Tell me what’s been going on with you, reading or otherwise!
