June was such an interesting month for Calendar Girls! It was so nice to learn about your favorite books with LGBTQ+ Representations, and to learn about the first books you read with said reps in our Twitter chat! We hope you enjoyed painting the book town rainbow and are looking forward to Summer Lovin’!

The votes came in, and the Popular Choice for Favorite Book with LGBTQ+ Representation is:

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

It was a close vote between this one and The Gentleman’s Guide, but it sounds like the best rep won! I had to add this to my TBR because it sounds so emotional and powerful.

Don’t forget to join us for our new Twitter chat schedule. Instead of chatting for an hour one day of the month, we decided to spread it out over 5 days to allow more of you to be able to participate! Starting the 3rd Monday of the month (July 15th), each week day will have a new question under the hashtag #CGBChat, and you will have the whole week to join in on the fun!

For those who are new to Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blog event that was inspired by the Neil Sedaka song, Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a specific theme, voted on by the participants, where we get to talk about a particular book we love or think fits the theme the best. The blog event was created to incite fun bookish discussions and to spread the blogger love by introducing us to new bloggers and/or books that we have not come across before.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, make sure to head to my Calendar Girls info page! Drop a comment and let me know if you are interested in joining us.
