Summer is here! Are you ready for lazy days in the sun, or in the AC (lol)? Do you have tons of reading planned? Do you get to enjoy Summer? I’m hoping to be able to, and I know one thing I look forward to during Summer time is sweet romances and rom coms. 😛
~Summer Lovin’: (Bookish OTP)~
Runner Ups:
Lara Jean and Peter
Lou and Will
Kaz and Inej
Denna and Mare
Clary and Jace and Magnus and Alec
Lady Helen and Lord Carlston
Audrey Rose and Thomas
My Choice:
Veronica and Stoker
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn
Synopsis:
London, 1887.
After burying her spinster aunt, orphaned Veronica Speedwell is free to resume her world travels in pursuit of scientific inquiry—and the occasional romantic dalliance. As familiar with hunting butterflies as with fending off admirers, Veronica intends to embark upon the journey of a lifetime.
But fate has other plans when Veronica thwarts her own attempted abduction with the help of an enigmatic German baron, who offers her sanctuary in the care of his friend Stoker, a reclusive and bad-tempered natural historian. But before the baron can reveal what he knows of the plot against her, he is found murdered—leaving Veronica and Stoker on the run from an elusive assailant as wary partners in search of the villainous truth.
My Reason:
I want these two to be together so freakin’ much! They have chemistry. They have passion. They challenge each other. They get angry at each other, and they work so well together. I ship them more than Audrey and Thomas!

For those who are new to Calendar Girls, it is a monthly blog event, created by Melanie at MNBernard Books, and Flavia at Flavia the Bibliophile, that was inspired by the Neil Sedaka song Calendar Girl. Just like the song, each month has a specific theme, voted on by the participants, where we get to talk about a particular book we love or think fits the theme the best. The blog event was created to incite fun bookish discussions and to spread the blogger love by introducing us to new bloggers and/or books that we have not come across before.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy, make sure to head to my Calendar Girls info page! Drop a comment and let me know if you are interested in joining us, and sign up for the newsletter if you would like monthly updates on the chosen themes and blogger picks! We’d love to have you join us!
If you are joining on the fun today, make sure to link back to this post AND Katie’s post so we can add your name and choice to the list of participants for all to enjoy!

MORE THAN AUDREY ROSE AND THOMAS?!?!?!
So, is this book about Stoker as in Bram Stoker? Is this a Dracula origin story? Because I could be 100% there for that. Especially if it’s giving you Stalking Jack the Ripper feels, because that’s the feels I got from the synopsis.

No, I think Stoker is his last name. The books are similar to SJTR by feel and by the fact that they work together to solve mysteries. You would probably still like them!

Yeah, Bram Stoker. First name Bram, last name Stoker. I’ve convinced myself, lol.

I didn’t know about A Curious Beginning, but I totally added it to my TBR because it sounds great. Plus the fact you love them more than Audrey Rose and Thomas convinced me, because I love those two (and need to continue the series) 🙂
